Offering a Suite of Tools & Demos To Fast Track Development

One of our goals at the Kin Foundation is to provide a range of quality resources to help smooth the development process for our ecosystem partners –  both new and established. As such, we are pleased to announce that the Kin Laboratory has been updated for 2022!

The Kin Laboratory is a set of development tools aimed at improving the experience of working with the Kin Testnet, as well as some utilities that can work with the mainnet as well.

These new resources help developers learn about how Kin works from a technical perspective, providing demonstrations & test environments for generating keypairs, airdropping, creating memos, & viewing the transaction details to ensure everything is working smoothly.

If you’re interested in building within the Kin Ecosystem and are just getting started, the Kin Laboratory is a great starting point to grasp a better understanding of how Kin can easily be integrated into your new and/or existing applications and to fast-track the development timeframe.

Continue reading below to learn more about the various features available, and dive into the new Kin Laboratory to try for yourself!

Keypair Generator

The Keypair Generator can be utilized to create new keypairs that can then be used to create accounts on the Testnet. This is especially useful for developers new to Kin, who are following our Getting Started tutorials or are just looking to easily create additional test accounts.

Airdrop Function

We now also provide a new airdrop function for quickly funding test accounts so you can start using Kin in your application as quickly as possible.

Memo Encoder/Decoder

Our Memo Encoder / Decoder is great for checking that your Kin transactions (spends, earns & P2P) contain correctly formatted memos so that you earn the rewards your app deserves via the Kin Rewards Engine

The Kin Memo format is used to track KIN transactions on the Solana blockchain.

Transaction Explorer

Our Transaction Explorer can give you insights into your transactions, so you can quickly see whether they are performing as expected in a safe test environment.

It will display whether the following criteria is completed successfully:

  • Valid KIN Transaction
  • Valid Kin Memo
  • SOL Transfer
  • Token Transfer

Stellar – Solana Legacy Tool

Finally, we’ve provided a legacy tool for those with Stellar generated private keys that they’d like to update to work with Solana wallets such as Phantom.

We think these tools are a great starting point in our efforts to support our ecosystem partners and new developers in 2022 – but they are just a starting point.

If you have any issues or requests for additional functionality, drop by our Kin Developer Community Discord and add a message to our kin-laboratory channel.

Happy building Kin developer community!
