During the month of January, the Kin Ecosystem processed 24,767,357 transactions, averaging 798,947 transactions per day. 

The Kin Ecosystem closed the month of January with roughly 951,917 monthly active users and over 72 Billion KIN in active user balance across 17 total apps.

New App PIP Joins The Kin Ecosystem

We welcomed a new app to the Kin Ecosystem – PIP

PIP is a free web-browser extension that aims to bridge the gap between the Web3 and Web2 worlds – allowing users to freely tip creators with their preferred cryptocurrency.

Introducing Kin SDK-Less Transactions

We announced a new technological development that will enable even more apps and developers to easily integrate Kin and join a growing Web3 ecosystem on Solana.

Introducing Kin SDK-less implementation – allowing any (approved) app to implement Kin without the explicit use of Kin SDK’s, enabling such apps to be eligible for rewards from the Kin Rewards Engine (KRE).

We welcomed a new app add-on to the Kin Ecosystem – Perfect 365 Video!

Updates to The Kin Catalyst Fund

In-order to increase awareness of the various grants offered as part of the Kin Catalyst Fund, we’ve added our areas of interest for grant funding to our website, as well as an improved grant application system to streamline the approval process.

The improved Kin Catalyst Fund Grant Application is quicker to submit, and applicants will receive occasional automated updates on the status of their application. Introducing The New Kin Laboratory

We were excited to unveil the new Kin Laboratory being updated for 2022!

The Kin Laboratory is a set of development tools aimed at improving the experience of working with the Kin Testnet, as well as some utilities that can work with the mainnet as well.

These new resources help developers learn about how Kin works from a technical perspective while providing a safe test environment –  but don’t take our word for it, dive into the new Kin Laboratory and try it for yourself!

Kin Advocates Voices: Tony Jacob & Sergio Fernandez

We were very excited to feature Tony Jacob & Sergio Fernandez in our latest iterations of the Kin Advocate Voices content series!

Tony is the founder of The Kin Show – a podcast where Tony and his guests discuss Kin fundamentals, what it means to integrate Kin into developer apps and other related topics.

Sergio is a long-standing Kin Advocate, moderator of The Kin Channel, and founder of the Kin Spanish Telegram.

Kin Community Creates Ramp Integration Demos

In order to speed up the development process and help all Kin developers interested in adding Ramp integrations to their projects, we were delighted to showcase two community created demos for adding Ramp support into Kin applications on both iOS and Android.

Introducing KRE 3.1

The Kin Foundation published a Kin Improvement Proposal for KRE 3.1 to update the logic of the rewards engine, along with changes to the monopoly clause and daily payout reward. The proposal can be found on github for community review and comment. 

Following community feedback, the Kin Foundation will postpone the implementation of KRE 3.1. An announcement will be made in due course with an updated proposal for the community’s further review and discussion.
