Increase in Kin Followers, Online Community, and Web Traffic Reflect Rising Interest in the Kin Cryptocurrency

The Kin Foundation tracks a number of analytics and indicators throughout social and community channels to measure growth and interest around the Kin cryptocurrency. Across the board, metrics are trending upward.

Here are some interesting insights:

Top 10 Fastest-Growing Community on Reddit

Kin has quickly climbed the ranks of the Fastest-Growing Finance & Business Communities on Reddit.

This growth coincided with a return of the Kin Foundation AMAs, which helped reinvigorate community engagement on the Kin Foundation subreddit. This proves that events like these are important to the community, and worth coordinating on a more regular basis throughout the year.

First noticed by the Kin Community as trending at #51 in late January, and reaching as high as #8 on April 8th, Kin has consistently out-performed the impression growth rate of notable finance & business communities such as Shopify, Microsoft, and most other cryptocurrencies.

Double-Digit Social Growth

We’ve also been seeing tremendous social growth, with follower counts hitting new milestones across the board. Here’s a look at the growth from our top channels over the last month:

What initially seemed like a spike earlier in the year has turned out to be the beginning of an upward trend, as growth continued through March in even greater numbers. As Kin’s reach continues to expand, each new follower is a new node in the network of community members contributing toward spreading the message about and adoption of the Kin token.

Community events like the AMAs not only drive engagement, but also grow our Reddit and YouTube communities by providing more useful and relevant content to Kin supporters. The launch of new channels like Facebook and Instagram along with the revival of our presence on platforms like LinkedIn have also driven a renewed interest in our content, which in turn helps educate the public on Kin while also guiding new prospects along their journey toward integration. It is important that we continue to connect with our supporters around the world so that they can keep up with the latest developments in the ecosystem and contribute their own.

Growth Across Web Traffic & Search

Kin.org is seeing a large influx of visitors, with new users* making up over 90% of current monthly traffic:

Trending along with Kin’s social growth, what initially seemed like an errant spike turned out to be the start of explosive growth over the last few months —with the number of users visiting the site more than doubling over the last quarter.

From January to March, Kin also experienced a 300%+ increase in web clicks as a result of search from 11.5K to 37.6K, and a near-doubling of impressions from 298k (Jan) to over 500k (March):

Search dominates as the main source of traffic to Kin.org, showing the importance of search engine optimization when crafting content, and effective backlink strategies to boost the SERP rankings of existing content that may be useful and relevant to prospective developers and users.

The number of referrals to the site from third-party platforms like CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko have also increased exponentially, justifying a higher priority in maintaining accurate information on these services. While tasks like this might seem trivial compared to bigger rock items, it is actually quite impactful with regards to effect on web traffic. Internal links are also up, indicating that content marketing and website optimization efforts can also play a large role in driving web traffic. We should continue to ramp up these efforts, as they are great ways to guide prospective developers and users through their customer journey.

*New User: A ‘new user’ is a visitor who, according to Google’s tracking snippet, has never been to the site before and is initiating their first session. Google’s tracking snippet, which detects browser cookies, will identify a ‘returning user’ if a cookie is present, and a ‘new user’ if a cookie is not present. That means that a user visiting from a new browser and/or device may be counted as a new user.

Kin Growth Benefits The Ecosystem
