A Look and Segmentation of Who Makes Up The Kin Community & The Role They Play

“Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” *

Since the inception of Kin in 2017, and the birth of a user/developer first economy, an incredibly unique, active and wide-spanning community has been formed. From app developers to crypto enthusiasts, investors, content creators, supporters, influencers, & long-standing advocates, the Kin community is chock full of various walks of life sharing the same passion and beliefs for a better digital future –  revolving around a decentralized cryptocurrency (KIN) that enables it.

As the Kin Foundation is constantly innovating to support the increasingly decentralized nature of a rapidly growing digital economy built around its many use cases, the Kin Advocates Community plays an increasingly important role towards the growth of Kin.

Community advocate marketing is a powerful tool to increase brand awareness, educate prospective users, developers or investors, as well as onboard like-minded parties towards the shared economic growth of an ecosystem such as Kin.

Empowering and engaging with the unique & vibrant community that sprouted over the last several years is top of mind for the Kin Foundation. We’d like to see a greater focus on real advocacy in addition to the powerful community voices Kin is lucky to have on social media.

Let’s take a look at who makes up the Kin community, and the role they play towards a better digital future.

Kin users are well-versed with the value proposition, key messaging, & strategy for moving Kin forward, towards increased adoption, usage and evolution. Users are engaged in the community channels & forums, using apps within the ecosystem and utilizing Kin to its full potential. We encourage users of Kin to share their passion and help spread the word via social media engagement, community led initiatives like Kin community pages (Cuppa Kin, The Kin Channel etc), community led AMA’s, blog posts, video content and more.

Best practices & Tips: The best way that users can support the growth of Kin’s ecosystem, is to share their Kin stories on social media, blog posts, and community forums (Reddit, Discord etc) – including favourite apps in the ecosystem and why they love them. Reiterating Kin’s value proposition and key messaging on a regular basis helps strengthen Kin’s brand awareness and helps us stand out from the noise.

Cryptocurrency enthusiasts and community members come in all shapes and forms. Kin also has general supporters who see the value and niche Kin fills within the industry, and many of them choose to join the online community to be a part of a blooming decentralized cryptocurrency which is bound for mass adoption. These Kin supporters help spread the word about Kin to those cryptocurrency enthusiasts who haven’t yet discovered it, making them an important asset for increasing brand awareness.

Best practices & Tips: Supporters can help by spreading the word about Kin to other cryptocurrency enthusiasts and shedding light on the niche Kin fills within the industry. They are active on social media, Twitter and other community channels. They also defend Kin as needed when detractors go on a negative tangent.

Influencers & Content Creators:

Influencers have quickly become one of the strongest marketing powerhouses to effectively promote a brand, educate consumers in an authentic way, & drive increased user acquisition/adoption. Cryptocurrency is no different, and Kin has been lucky enough to garner some very talented & passionate influencers & content creators across the years who have chosen Kin as one of the projects they support, and recommend to their many followers. Their titles are fairly self explanatory to their roles, which is to influence their community of followers and create content which exemplifies what Kin is about, and why you should care.

Best practices & Tips: Continue doing what you do best, creating awesome content that highlights and educates individuals about Kin, and why they should care! We’re always looking to highlight great user-generated community content on our various platforms such as Twitter and KINstagram, so don’t hesitate to share your creations directly with us.

Kin Developers are the ultimate advocates, because they have real world experience integrating Kin into their apps. If you’re remotely familiar with Kin, then you’re likely already well-acquainted to how important developers are within the ecosystem, and the role they play in Kin’s future. After all, Kin was created by app inventors/developers with the goal of creating a user-first economy that aligned users & developers over shared economic benefits, with a better alternative to ad-based monetization. Developers who choose to be on the forefront of the Web3 renaissance are the driving force behind mass adoption of cryptocurrency, and the prosperity and growth of Kin’s ecosystem. They look for problems to build solutions, use-cases to empower users & improve in-app experiences, and more than anything, spearhead innovative cryptocurrency based experiences. When a developer tells another developer about their Kin experience, that’s a powerful endorsement. Developers listen to each other.

Best practices & Tips: Kin is purposely designed to be integrated across a wide variety of cryptocurrency experiences and use cases. With every developer’s goal of creating awesome user experiences that increase user engagement and rewards as part of the KRE, we encourage developers to explore innovative use-cases. Every app experience is unique, and different apps call for different use-cases, but subscription models have been an increasingly popular option that can benefit Kin developers – as explained in our blog post: “How Subscription Models Enhance User Engagement”. If you’re an app developer interested in crypto, seeking ease of integration and help to get started – look no further. Developers can apply for a variety of grants to bootstrap their efforts. We’re looking to fund innovative token-based ideas using Kin!

Apps & Brands

Apps and brands are the lifeblood of the Kin ecosystem. With Kin being designed as a low-fee, frictionless decentralized cryptocurrency easily integrated for mass adoption, Kin thrives with the addition of new apps and brands joining the ecosystem. Kin is easily used in a better digital world where users make millions of microtransactions across a wide variety of apps, using Kin to enjoy their favourite digital products and services. Removing the complexities of cryptocurrency and blockchain integration, Kin can be seamlessly integrated in ways where users may be totally unaware they’re interacting with cryptocurrency, and that’s exactly what is needed for mass adoption.

Best Practices & Tips: We encourage apps & brands of all sizes and shapes to learn more about how Kin can help improve their user experience & engagement, while being rewarded for being early adopters in the Kin ecosystem. Many investors have been holding Kin since the early days of its inception in 2017 because they are true believers in its potential. Some of them include funds, family offices, high net worth individuals or just regular folks that continue to believe in Kin’s potential to become the fuel for an increasingly larger digital economy powered by blockchain technology and cryptocurrency use cases. Kin investors believe in the long term potential of Kin, and they look at their holdings over a broad horizon.
